Biography

Matthew joined MasterCard in 2010 and is Head of Market Expansion and Expert Sales for UK and Ireland. In the Market Expansion team, Matthew is responsible for maximising business development opportunities with new customers in traditional and non-traditional sectors in the UK and Ireland division. Matthew is also responsible for the Expert Sales team, with focus on Core Payments looking after Debit, Credit, PrePaid and Commercial products. His team work to identify, develop and deliver customer led opportunities for MasterCard’s existing customer base.

Biography

Dr Steve Perry joined Visa in 1990 and is Executive Vice President and Commercial Director for Visa Europe, based in London. He is responsible for delivering Visa's business plans and strategies in 36 markets, with a team present in 20 countries.

Steve was previously Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Visa Europe. Steve is a member of the Visa Europe Executive Management Committee.

Steve directed Visa's preparations for the single European currency, working with Visa's members to ensure the transition was smooth and cost-effective and made the world's first euro transaction in 1999. Prior to joining Visa, Steve was Group Economist for the TSB group.

He holds a Masters degree in economics from the University of London and a doctorate in the same subject from the University of Keele.

Steve is also a Non Executive Director and Chair of the ARF of E-ACT, a fast growing foundation established to promote excellence in education and learning in City Academies. He is also a Board Member of the CBI Financial Services Council, the 2012 Social Legacy Board and TheCityUK.

Steve was awarded the title of Cavaliere by the President of Italy in July 2005.
