Biography

Jannie Haek was born in Torhout on 10 July 1965. He holds a university degree in political science (Ghent University). He lives in Bruges with his wife and two daughters.

His professional career started as Inspector-General of Finance. He was chairman of BIAC SA/NV until 31 December 2004. Until mid-October 2005 he held the office of Government Commissioner with the public law company A.S.T.R.I.D. He was also a member of the Board of the Institute for the Equality of Women and Men until October 2006.

  • April 1992 – October 1994 : deputy head of cabinet for the Minister for Home Affairs Louis Tobback
  • October 1994 – June 1995 : deputy head of cabinet for the Minister for Home Affairs Johan Vande Lanotte

Biography

Wolfgang has been working for Deutsche Bahn in various management positions for the past 12 years. Has has a broad background in transport planning, timetabling and consultancy. In recent years he has been increasingly involved with the international railway business. He worked for almost 3 years with Thalys International as Director Corporate Development and Customer Services. Since October 2010 he has been Head of International Business France, Benelux & UK of DB's long distance division.

Prior to his current role, Wolfgang was

  • responsible for the short and mid term tranport plans of DB's national long distance passenger lines,
  • Project Director of several large scale transportation, timetabling and infrastructure projects,
  • Senior Consultant in DB's corporate development department and Regional Manager for DB's consultancy branch DE-Consult in South East Asia.

Wolfgang holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from Freiburg University and an M.Sc. from the University of Toronto.

Dr André Zeug

Biography

Dr. André Zeug was born on February 4th, 1956 in Berlin.

He studied law and business administration in Munich, accomplished his doctorate at the Max Planck Society and was employed at a firm of so­licitors in Munich.

Dr. Zeug worked for Treuhandanstalt in Berlin (privatisation of former East German companies) and afterwards for Lufthansa (mergers & ac­quisitions / management recruitment).

Dr. Zeug started working for Deutsche Bahn AG in 1994 in various posi­tions (managing director of sales and rail car management company, di­rector corporate development and intermodal transport). He was a mem­ber of the Management Board of Stinnes AG, the transport and logistics division of DB AG, until the end of March 2005. From April 1, 2005 until December 31, 2007, Dr. Zeug was responsible for Technology and Pro­curement of DB AG and appointed Executive Vice President.

The nomination as Chairman of the Executive Board of DB Sta­tion&Service AG took place on January 1, 2008.

Zoltan Kazatsay

Biography

Since 2004, Zoltan Kazatsay has been working as Deputy Director-General of DG MOVE (former DG Tren) coordinating transport activities for the European Commission. Prior to this, he worked for the Hungarian Ministry of Transport, Communications and Water Management where he served in different posts from 1989. In 1997 he was appointed to the post of Deputy State Secretary to be responsible for all transport policy issues and related investments. In this capacity he was in charge of the EU-Hungarian transport related accession negotiations, supervising the use of the pre-accession funds (PHARE, ISPA) as well as the Cohesion Fund project preparations. Mr Kazatsay is graduated from the Technical University of Budapest as a civil engineer in 1978, and he has been decorated with the Hungarian "Légion d'Honneur".
