Conference overview:

In February 2011 The European Commission issued a call to action for Smart Grids with the release of 'Smart Grids: From innovation to Deployment'. This communication was another step on the road to developing Smarter Grids in Europe.

In June 2011, San Diego Gas and Electric filed it's Smart Grid Deployment Plan - the document acknowledges that this is a 'living' instead of a 'static' plan and anticipates being updated as more testing is done and more about smart grids is learnt. This nicely demonstrates that the route to smart grids is much more evolution than revolution.

Key topics to be addressed at the conference include:

  • The role of smart grids in a low carbon future
  • Making the investment case: regulation and funding
  • From smart meters to smart grids: ensuring a smooth link
  • From planning to practice: implementing smarter grids
  • Adapting to a new energy era: integrating microgeneration and renewable energy supply
  • Smart cars for a smart grid: the growth of electric vehicles in Europe

Join your peers and network with professionals including:

  • TSOs
  • DSOs/DNOs
  • Suppliers
  • Regulators
  • Policy makers
  • Technology providers

Last year's conference attracted a large number of energy professionals:
