Dear Colleague,

We are delighted to support this new lecture programme in 2012, a year that marks the centenary of the chartered Insurance Institute, which was granted its original royal charter by King George V.

We are the world’s leading professional body operating in the insurance and financial services sector and our royal charter defines our purpose and establishes our objectives, most notably to secure and justify the confidence of the public by guiding the profession.

At the heart of the CII centenary activities is the opportunity to better communicate how we help economies, communities, and individuals live their lives through our understanding and management of risk. We will of course look to celebrate and share our past successes but also, and perhaps more importantly, we will focus on the next 100 years.

I look forward to seeing you at these lectures.
